THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Rione Borgo, Borgo Pio is the closest district to the Vatican of Rome. It is a pedestrian street parallel to Via della Conciliazione, and it is the heart of all the activities of the neighbourhood. Rione Borgo extends between St. Peter’s Basilica and Castel Sant’Angelo until the Vatican Museums.

History, art, culture...movida

It is considered the “medieval quarter” of Rome and is still made up of artisan and historic and souvenir shops, in a walk that seems to be out of time. In fact, in the past artisans and artists settled here and worked on the construction of the Basilica and the embellishment of the nearby Vatican Museums. In the Borgo district, sacred and profane, faith and worldliness, ancient and modern coexist in unique combinations that make it one of the most original and interesting neighborhoods in Rome.
